Ricky Navarette is a competitive powerlifter, an electrician, and an all-around hardworking kind dude. In this episode, I talk with Ricky about his journey into the weight-room and what started his path towards athletic performance. We talk about finding a mentor, squatting the big 705, and competing in various Powerlifting Championships. Ricky explains how the powerlifting meets go down and we chat about caffeine, ammonia, tough upbringings, BSS, our rebellious younger years, learning from mistakes, and the power of taking notes. He shares with me some of his electrician knowledge and we expand on ego-lifting, understanding form, and the value of a mind-body connection. He talks not half-assing your time in the gym, eatin your cold food, getting your rest day, finding balance with life and gym, and not stayin stag. I'm grateful to Ricky for coming by and sharing his learned firsthand knowledge of his corner of the world. He inspires me, and I hope he does you.
