The Journey of a WiT - Season 2 Episode 11 with Deb Hetherington, Head of Innovation at Platform Tech Hub.

This week our host Elly Greaney was joined by the amazing Deb Hetherington who is the Head of Innovation at Platform Tech Hub.

Deb is a busy lady as she is also the co-founder of Women in Leeds Digital (WiLd), a board member at Leeds Tech and on the steering committee for Leeds Digital Festival and Leeds Bid!!! 
 
 With Deb’s role being crucial to contributing to the Tech eco-system, it was extremely exciting to have Deb on the podcast as she has such a unique role within the industry.

Deb’s career story was extremely interesting. After going to university to study Law, it was great to hear how she transitioned into the world of Tech. It’s safe to say Deb has had some very cool jobs over the years and we loved hearing about them.

Elly and Deb discussed the current challenges within in the Tech scene and solutions to combatting them from the Digital Skills gap to Brexit and the impact it will have on the industry. 

Deb has an obvious passion for learning and it was very motivating to hear her online course recommendations which are a great way to develop your career. 

Deb also shared her top tips for Networking (they were extremely good tips!)

Playing a fantastic part in encouraging diversity and inclusion within Tech, Deb is an amazing role model and we loved having her as a guest.
