The Journey of a WiT - S3 E.4 with Christina King, CCO at Tribosonics

In this episode, Elly is joined by Christina King, Chief Commercial Officer at Tribosonics and a TechWomen 100 Award winner for 2020. 

 Christina started her career as an engineer, and developed change management skills in the defence manufacturing sector – where she went on to build and test battle tanks!! She also helped Guy Martin smash a world speed record (as you do!).

 Elly and Christina talk about promoting women into engineering and providing mentorship from strong female professionals. Christina says her greatest role model is Madonna for her female empowerment, creativity, and not being afraid to be different!

 Christina is now working at ambitious scale up, Tribosonics, where they work to reduce the energy lost in friction – which is apparently 23% of the world’s energy! This was super interesting, as it is a personal goal of Elly’s to focus more on sustainability in tech.

 They also talk, stress management, running and learning to play the piano (Christina shouts out to colleague Dan Richardson for that one!) The most important thing, says Christina, is having a champion, someone who supports and believes in you. Have a listen and let us know what you think!
