Peter Wright describes himself as a podcast host and publisher, author, writer, and speaker.  Through speaking and writing, he helps people overcome adversity, thrive and lead extraordinary lives. He is also an independent thinker and an inspirational and entertaining speaker. Born in London, England, Peter moved to Rhodesia as a boy, he spent most of his life in Southern Africa. His corporate career included marketing management in large and small companies. This was followed by establishing and running his own small factory and an export trading business. He traveled extensively in Southern and Central Africa until civil war in 2 significant markets wiped out the export business. He lost his business and home, became bankrupt, and ended his marriage. Peter then moved to Zimbabwe, started another business, sold that, and became a farmer in Zimbabwe. In 2002 he became a casualty of the government's illegal and violent policy of driving commercial farmers off their farms. After holding out for 3 years, he was illegally detained by the Mugabe government, imprisoned, and prevented from returning to his farm. Losing the farm and all his assets left him with no home, no income, no capital, and no way to survive in that country.  Arriving in Canada at age 54, with 2 suitcases a horse saddle, and very little cash, Peter survived initially by helping farmers with greenhouse and irrigation work. When a heart attack in 2000 stopped the farm work, he started Internet Marketing, writing, speaking, and coaching. His latest venture started in 2020 is The Yakking Show audio and video podcast. Peter has been a horse and dog owner for most of his life played Polo-Crosse and Polo, and run marathons and ultra-marathons. In 2019, he walked 250 km (150 miles) on the Camino de Santiago. He now lives with his partner Sue, and 8 cats in a 120-year-old farmhouse near Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Peter and Sue have 4 children and 12 grandchildren scattered over 3 continents. With his wide and deep experience of different cultures and his exposure to the good and bad extremes of human behavior, Peter has a unique ability to help people find solutions in their personal and professional lives.
