Human Rights and the Middle East are both important topics right now, and Parivash Rohani, who escaped Iran just before the revolution in 1979, is no better person to speak with about it.

At age 18, after her family's home was burned to the ground due to religious persecution, Parivash's parents hid her in her cousin's dorm room at a local university. Before ending up in Orange County, CA and eventually settling in Maine, Parivash escaped to India, where she met her husband and had her first child.

Recently, because of ill parents, Parivash went back to Iran -- not once, but twice -- despite the dangers of doing so as a member of the Baha'i Faith. An incredible story that will humanize the situation in the Middle East for you.

Enjoy,

Jake
