Pop beads help develop finger strength and persistence. Musical instruments let them experiment with sounds and different intensity of actions. Sand or water play lets them use a variety of motions to scoop, dump, fill while they experience different textures. A walk outside gives you chances to observe and label actions or characteristics like color, shape or texture.

Today’s activity: Shape your child’s skills when using toys. Wait to give them a chance to start it themself. Give just the minimum amount of help to get them started. Label objects and actions as you child uses them.
