6.195 SOCIAL INTERACTION: Affect and Engagement: Offer calming activity or object

Your child will show a preference for an object or activity that helps them feel calm. It may be a soft blanket, a favorite toy, rocking, looking out the window, or being held.

Today’s activity: Use the object or activity during or before a possibly upsetting event. Offer it when your child seems unsettled. Help your learn to seek the calming object or activity when they need it.
