With the market shift and economic uncertainty, I have been having a lot of discussions with business owners and leaders about the changing circumstances. I was asked to address a team of leaders on leading through adversity. I didn't want to share the same old traditional leadership qualities that we always discuss. I did discuss two qualities that would ensure that you are able to thrive in uncertain times.
The primary elements of this episode are:
- In uncertain times with changing circumstances, the team looks to the leader for how to behave. When the leader is powerful, the team will be powerful. If the leader waivers, so will the team.
- Personal certainty is an attribute of a highly performing leader in uncertain times. Personal certainty is trusting that he/she will be ok regardless of outcomes and circumstances, and capable of demonstrating real confidence in their clarity, belief in self, trust in life, heartset of abundance, inspired action, and resilience. Personal certainty creates team certainty.
- Your beliefs are repetitive thoughts, your thoughts are impulses, and each thought triggers a rush of chemicals in your body. You can begin changing any of these at any time by thinking differently, and the more you repeat the thought the more the new thought will become a belief.
