"When I think about Jesus’ ways, I’m reminded that I don’t need to keep a checklist of proof for my belonging or the belonging of others. I can eat with those who don’t realize how deep their need is for Jesus, and welcome those who do. I don’t need to make sure my neighbor knows where I stand on this issue or that one before I catch their tears, listen to their story, or dine at their table.
