10: Summoning the Courage to Bet On You with Sabrina Smith

Today’s guest is Sabrina Smith. She brings an incredible amount of inspiration and relatability as her life is steeped in both story and connection.

Today she shares insights that touch into so many important topics including making brave choices, navigating around challenges, upholding your values, advocating for causes, understanding disability, validating feelings, navigating inequity, connecting in meaningful ways with others and living a life marked by love.

I asked her to describe intersectionality from her own knowingness, and she replied with this gem:

“Intersectionality. So the best way to look at it is in terms of streets meaning that point where they cross each other just like with individuals and the multiple facets or parts of themselves meet , cross or intersect if you will.  We all have multiple intersections it's just a matter of finding out which yours are.”

For her, that is:  Woman, Mother, Black, 40+, LGBTQ, Non-Traditional College Student.

Sabrina Smith is a 41 year old Los Angeles native Mother of One who is always in search of delicious food and drink. Advocate for the global majority and LGBTQ community as well as single mothers and those who identify as women. She is pro-self growth/awareness and therapy.
