Lesson 3.1 - Double Sticking

In the 4th episode of the "I Hit Drums - A Beginner's Guide" podcast, we cover pages 24 and 25 of the book, where you'll work though the following:

• Double Sticking at different note values (Quarter Notes, 8th Notes and 16th Notes)


• Moving between different note values with Double Sticking

In Double Sticking, all of the exercises should be played R,R,L,L instead of the previously learned single sticking R,L,R,L

The purpose of this lesson is to get your hands used to hitting a drum or surface for two consecutive hits, instead of moving from one hand to the next.
