Join us for an in depth discussion and analysis of the 2019 Canadian Indigenous Horror film, Blood Quantum.
Directed by: Jeff Barnaby
Starring: Michael Greyeyes, Elle-Maija Tailfeathers, Forrest Goodluck, Kiowa Gordon, Olivia Scriven, and Gary Farmer.
Our third BIPOC film for the month of April is heavy on the zombies...
Filmed at the Kanawake and Listiguj reservations in Quebec, the title of the film says it all. Blood Quantum flips the premise on it's head, with the inhabitants of Red Crow being the only people immune to a deadly virus. Intestines will fly.
*Spoiler Alert* - Full synopsis and behind the scenes morcels included.

Consensus: A brutal anabashed look at what has become of the earth and the reservations that the Indigenous people's of Red Crow live.. and then they have to deal with a zombie plague that may spare their blood, but still manages to take their lives. This film is an homage to George A Romero, Quentin Tarantino, and Alanis Obomsawin (Incident at Restigouche).
Incredibly important to Indigenous film, and highly recommended for zombie fans!
