Nigel ‘Spud’ Ely’s soldiering career in the Parachute Regiment, the SAS, as a Military Consultant and as a war photojournalist has taken him in to some of the most deadly, high-octane, violent battles of the modern era, from Northern Ireland, the Falklands, to Africa, Afghanistan and Iraq. He was arrested by British Police and threatened with a seven stretch for stealing a large piece of Saddam Hussein’s bronze left buttock.
