Dr. Allison Smith and Dr. Elizabeth Azpeitia come onto the HET Podcast to speak about Texas Woman's University's DPT to Ph.D fast track program.  Biography: Allison Smith PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT graduated with a bachelor’s degree in health sciences and minor in psychology in 2011 from Purdue University, where she was also a NCAA Division I swimmer. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and graduated with her doctor of physical therapy degree in 2014. Following PT school she was accepted into the Harris Health System orthopedic physical therapy residency program, which she completed in 2015. Allie became board certified as an orthopedic clinical specialist in 2016. In 2017 she completed the OPTIM manual therapy fellowship and became a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. She was awarded with Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award in 2017. Allie has previously served locally for the Southeastern District of the Texas Physical Therapy Association as the Governmental Affairs Chair and nationally representing Texas as a delegate in the House of Delegates. She continues to be a clinical instructor and mentor at Harris Health System and is involved in the orthopedic residency program. She also assists with the orthopedics module for the neurologic residency. Elizabeth Azpeitia, PT, DPT, PhD, graduated from Texas Woman's University with her doctor of physical therapy degree in 2019. She is currently a PhD student at Texas Woman's University.
