In this episode of the Growth in Educational Leadership podcast, I welcome guest Linda Hannon, an experienced chemistry teacher. 

Linda shares her career journey, starting with her chemistry degree from UCD and her initial steps into teaching in Ireland. She describes her transformative experience teaching at an international boarding school in Switzerland, covering both American and British syllabi, and the challenges she faced upon returning to Ireland. 

Linda discusses the importance of organisation, adapting to different school environments, and the adjustments needed when transitioning between teaching roles. The episode also highlights Linda's methods for engaging students in science, managing large classes, and her passion for facilitating memorable educational trips, particularly to the Science Museum in London. 

Linda offers insights into how primary school teachers can better prepare students for secondary school and emphasizes the creativity involved in science education.
