Weapons (2025) is moving to become Zach Cregger's highest grossing film against the production budget, and for good reason: this movie is solid! Acting, writing, camera work, music, all high quality. John Brolin is showing us what he deserves to be in more serious-minded horror films like this.
Zach Cregger's first hit was Barbarian (2022) which did well. Barbarian, like Weapons, follows multiple protagonists in a non-linear format. When it's done well this format is highly-effective in keeping audiences unsettled.
