2000's Space Cowboys finally brings us to the end of Eastwood's films released this century (he has released 3847 movies since 2000 as well as one avant garde stage piece where he talks to a chair). Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, James Garner and Verna herself, Marcia Gay Harden, join Eastwood for one of the best high concepts Eastwood ever got his hands on; only a group of old guys can go into space and fix a satellite. Perfect concept! How is the execution?

Then we dig into 1973's Magnum Force, the first of numerous and unnecessary sequels to the brilliant Dirty Harry. Does having a bunch of uniformed cops taking the law into their own hands absolve Harry of his actions in Dirty Harry? Or does it weirdly confirm the unfair fascist complaints of the original while trying to undo them? TV journeyman Ted Post directs with some juicy conflict behind the scenes.
