S2 E9 TRUEFOOT AND CRIMEBOLT.

Penultimate S2 episode! We are rejoined by super guest Thomas to discuss 1974's Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, written and directed by the late Michael Cimino, co-starring The Dude. Cimino would go on to direct The Deer Hunter and Heaven's Gate but shows more restraint in scenes of people dancing or celebrating here and focuses instead on quirks and a kickass bank heist by a crew of marginally skilled thieves. Cimno would win an Oscar in four years for the Deer Hunter and a Razzie two years after that for Heaven's Gate. Combined this is called a RAZCAR, which is like an EGOT but far more prestigious.

Then we FINALLY get to the 20th century in our modern half of this cinematic journey with 1999's True Crime. Ken saw True Crime when it was released in 1999 and, like everyone else who has ever seen it, still remembers Speed Zoo and nothing else. Something else worth remembering? James Woods is in it and it is based on a book by Andrew Klavan. Since this movie both men have gone bonkos with rightwing conspiracies and public frothing of the mouth. Is this movie why? Is it cursed? We're looking for angles here, folks. That may be as good as we get so don't judge. Also: We leave our own Google reviews for both movies!

Double bonus! Semi-breaking news on Eastwood's larest project!
