2003's Mystic River is not a movie about pizza. It's about childhood friends who grow into Hollywood stars Sean Penn, Kevin Bacon and Tim Robbins, that play cops, criminals and grocery store owners in this Oscar-winning adaptation of the novel-of-the-same-name by the amazing Dennis Lehane. River also features a crack supporting cast with Marcia Gay Harden, Laura Linney, Laurence Fishburne and Emmy Rossum. Pretty good list! High Plains Drifter (1973) is about hell. It's Eastwood's first western as director and is often cited as the most sadistic film in his filmography. Hey, we sat through Hereafter so be careful how you toss around phrases like "most sadistic film". Special guest Thomas helps us paint the town red.
