S2 E7 MANIC PIXIE BLOOD BREEZE.

AN INSTANT AND INFAMOUS CLASSIC! One of our best epsiodes for two films no one has even seen. 1973's Breezy has gone virtually unseen by anyone for nearly 50 years. Unearthed forgotten masterpiece or... not quite? It is a rare, early Eastwood directorial effort in which he does not appear and features William Holden at 53 in a relationship with a free spirited girl in her late teens named Breezy. What's the deal with that? It has to be some kind of... mentor/friend thing, right??? Because otherwise it'd be less a May/December thing and more of a Paleozoic/Cenzoic thing. Is it as creepy as it sounds or is it something sweet? Jack and Ken find out along with chatting about 2002's Blood Work, which is Eastwood's last role as a member of the law and his first collab with podcast fave Tom Stern as DP. Based on the Michael Connelly book of the same name, Eastwood's character gets a heart transplant and later the sister of the heart donor comes and asks him to solve the mystery of how/why her sister died. Then the legendary serial killer THE CODE BREAKER comes back ready to leave some clues only a dumb kid can solve! Full of heart or a lot of work to sit through?

BONUS: Ken and Jack leave their own google reviews for each film.
