Hello, and welcome to another episode of The Good, The Bad, and The What!? The show in which we discuss three films that we have deemed "good," "bad," or "what!?" within a subgenre, theme, motif, director or actor's filmography, and more!
This week, with the recent release of "Ambulance," Ryan and Chris look back on the career of Michael Bay, specifically through the vulgar auteurist's R-rated features (not only because of "Ambulance's" R-rating, but because nearly all of his PG-13 films - which includes five "Transformers" flicks - are rank). We start with 2013's "Pain & Gain," which is essentially Bay's version of "Fargo" meets "Goodfellas" but also a dead-bang critique on American greed and idiocy. Then, we move into 2019's "6 Underground," a franchise non-starter with a couple good action scenes but an irritating structure and nonsensical storyline. Lastly, we discuss a film that is as masterful as it is vile (though some may argue those descriptors are simpatico): 2003's "Bad Boys II."
