Cybercriminals create ‘vanity addresses’ that look similar to real ones. They then send meaningless amounts of funds to your wallet, effectively ‘poisoning’ your transaction history. In most chains, crypto transactions are irreversible, so it’s unlikely that you ever recover your funds after this oversight.
