Americans & Portugal: 'Fling' or 'Serious Thing'? Why are so many of you going home?!

What was once thought to be an invasion seems now to be a major repatriation!

Here, me and Mrs M consider what would appear to be the start of the great American return home as Portugal's pleasures and advantages continue to attract newcomers.

But why is there an alarmingly high rate of return? What are we mising? What's not being planned for or said?

Prompted by Honeymoon Always' recent video and a personal message to me soon after, suggesting that 30-40% of Americans return home in the first year, we share our first thoughts using the relationship metaphor: IS this a 'fling' or a 'serious thing'?

As Louisa and I develop plans to work together more closely bringing coaching skills, group facilitation and our love of community building into a new Good Morning Portugal! hybrid, we ponder the challenge and consider what it is we can do for Americans to help you make sound and well-founded decisions when thinking of a move here.
