Podcast #5 - An Orchid in the Tropics is a Prodigy
In this episode I speak of the book The Orchid and The Dandelion written by W. Thomas Boyce. I read this book shortly after it first came out. However, it wasn't until I moved to the tropics that I truly understood how powerful the metaphor is. I am not sure even the author understands how amazing orchids are in the tropics. How much they dominate the landscape and how little to zero cultivation is needed for them to blossom into the most beautiful, vibrant, and gigantic flowering plant the tropics has to offer.
I connect this topic to how those with the traits of orchids do well in the settings where life has less system support but is also less hectic. I speak of how prompts activate our Long Term Memory and how we must engage both our conscious and subconscious when learning. According to Chat GPT the orchid is the only personality type that will thrive in system collapse. I also mention a wonderful book called Memory Craft by Lynne Kelly.
If you are an orchid this is your chance to really understand how you will function when you find your Goldilocks zone.
