[01] Harder Student Visa and 485 Graduate Visa

The English language proficiency requirements have been raised, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 now required for student visas. The minimum requirement for English language intensive courses for overseas students has also increased. The temporary graduate visa (485 visa) now requires an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each component. The validity of English tests for these visas has been shortened to 1 year. The genuine temporary entrance (GTE) requirement has been replaced by the genuine student test (GS), which focuses on genuine study purposes.
