– BACK TO EDEN – WOOD CHIPS
This is good because it retains moisture, amends soil over time, protects the soil from solar radiation and weathering, and can suppress most weeds.
CONS: Wood chips will take nitrogen from the soil if mixed into the soil leaving plants with nitrogen deficiencies, hardy weeds will still find a way to grow, so weeding is still something that has to be done, moving wood chips can be labor-intensive and tiring. Planting seeds is also a challenge since mulch does not delineate between weeds and your vegetable plants.woodchip would be best in a perineal bed or followers
CORE GARDENING
Its like a like hugelkulture but you not mounding the soil up you are digging a trench in the raised bed if 4 ft wide dig in the middle length of the bed to the native ground about 1 foot wide fill will clean grass or straw and cover over it acts as sponge you do have to water to get it to charge
