Things to consider if starting seeds indoors
What does indoors mean ? bedroom/ basement/ garage? Green house? Heated or unheated?
Space
How will you start them in rootmaker trays? Peat pellets not so good
What about light
A benefit is endless varieties 3 or 4 dollars for 25 tomato seeds/50 peppers 100’s of lettuce seeds
Light
Downside you will need to take care of them do you have the time
Buy at your local independent garden center easy plants are all healthy (should be)
ready to plant
Questions can be asked to the staff
But cost
That pack of pepper seeds for 3 of 4 dollars for 50 seeds 1 pepper can cost 2 to 4 dollars
We have 38 peppers seedlings right now started
It is a dissection that each of you have to make
We did a survey through our Youtube page The Wisconsin vegetable Gardener that 76% try to start as many seeds as possible 24% buying most of their plants
Nothing wrong with either way if you are a new gardener it can be very overwhelming
