In segment 1 Joey and Holly talk about What to buy in bulk and how to store it

Take into consideration your family size and how much you consume
Storage space
Is it truly cheaper?
Shop sales
Dry foods – rice, pasta, dry beans and legumes – store in cool dry area
Flours – be aware of bugs
Think about humidity levels in your area/home – humidity causes stale food
Meat – separate to whatever portion size and label – 6 to 9 months OK frozen in freezer bags
Veggies – most need to be blanched or parboiled – 9 months to a year
Fruit – can freeze on cookie sheet for better freezing, then freezer bag

In segment two Joey and Holly Freezer meal tips

Family size
Freezer space
Can freeze part of the meal
Under cook pasta dishes a little
Maybe not meatloaf but meatloaf cups
Think about what people in household eat
Label, Label, Label!
Chicken dishes, pasta (Italian) dishes, soups, casseroles
Can portion out for a quick lunch
Thaw before cooking
Lay storage flat for freezing

Rob Greenfield is an American adventurer, environmental activist, and an entrepreneur. Before embarking on this journey, he lived a typical lifestyle where he focused on materialistic things and his financial wealth. His goal was to become a millionaire before the age of 30, but he decided to watch documentaries and read books and that changed something.
Rob's year of growing and foraging 100% of his food: https://www.robgreenfield.org/foodfreedom

He spent 3 of those months last summer in Wisconsin doing this project.
And he is looking to do this whole project next in a cold climate, like Wisconsin so that would be interesting for your listeners.
1. You are passionate about a zero waste lifestyle - what is zero waste living?
2. What can urban food gardeners do to help reduce food waste?
3. How can people start living more sustainably?
4. What would you say is the challenge of this current generation concerning the environment and the waste of food. Are we becoming better or is it a problem we are still being faced with?
5. What can you tell people who are motivated to make a change in the world but don’t know where to start?
6. Where can people find out more about you?

In segment four Joey and Holly answer garden questions:

Topping tomato plants. What do you recommend? Do you cut the top of the leader stem or just the flowers? How long before the first frost do you do that? Are there any other crops I should do this to?
Thank you! I love listening to you guys and appreciate all your work.
I heard about it from a friend and wasn't sure if it was a gardenin(continued)
