Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Today we discuss the film Invasion of the Body Snatchers. On the surface, this film is a 50’s sci-fi flick about invading aliens. As with many science fiction films, especially at the time, it can also be interpreted as a metaphor for something else. Although most of the creators of the film claim no political intentions, many saw it as having an anti-Communist or anti-mccarthyist message. In any case, the film serves as an allegory for the loss of individual thought and identity in any system.
