"God, if you are up there..." how many Christians have uttered these words as the prelude to their conversion? I don't know the statistics but I would guess that the number is fairly high. John Thompson threw these words at the sky as he was overwhelmed with a sense of hopelessness and meaninglessness, and God answered, though maybe not as John expected.
