#7 A Franchise Approach To Purpose-Driven Business with Jamie Buttigieg of Skill Samurai, Australia and New Zealand Franchisor & Global Chief Marketing Officer

In this episode I speak to Jamie Buttigieg, head franchisor of Skill Samurai in Australia and New Zealand, and the Chief Marketing Officer for Skill Samurai globally. 

Skill Samurai operates bricks and mortar learning centres in five countries, focusing on coding and STEM education. Jamie's background is in sales, operations, and marketing. Leading up to Skill Samurai, Jamie was the National Sales and Operations Manager for ASX-listed Consumer Finance Thorngroup, and recently in 2020 sold his marketing agency to focus solely on Skill Samurai. 

Some of the highlights of our conversation include hearing about the original inspiration that touched Jamie's heart that led to his move into Skill Samurai, taking a franchise model approach to reaching a wider market, teaching young people about leadership through project-based team learning, how holding onto control can sabotage your journey as a leader, a powerful story about the benefit of regular individual accountability conversations with your team, and Jamie's view on the greatest way to motivate people.
