Chantal Cornelius of Appletree Marketing guests on today’s podcast.   I often start podcasts by talking about my interviewee’s company name, and today is no exception, but Chantal’s story about her business name is one of the best I’ve heard!

We talk about Chantal’s move from being a copywriter to her current work as a marketing consultant for coaches, consultants and trainers – people selling a service, and generally solopreneurs.

Marketing Mondays is Chantal’s regular Zoom event, where not only does she give free marketing advice in response to questions from attendees, but all those in the room have the option to chip in with their views too.  It’s a great event – you should give it a try.  See https://www.facebook.com/groups/MarketingMondaysGroup for more on that.

We then turn to the title of the show and Chantal makes clear her answer to the question of what marketing issue business owners should first address.  I’m pleased to say I completely agree with her!

We then talk about how long a marketing strategy should be?  Nine pages, of course.  Chantal’s reasoning behind that is excellent.

When we talk about podcasts as a marketing channel, Chantal says she prefers speaking where people can ask her questions.  So, if you have questions, please do ask them!  You can do that via www.Appletreeuk.com –where there is lots of useful, practical advice in the Resources and Blog section.  Or better still, you can contact me and I’ll be happy to introduce you, as per the comments in the show!

We close with Chantal’s best advice on what you can do, right now, for free, to market your business.  Clue – it involves that old fashioned thing called a telephone.  And if you choose to engage with Chantal, what happens?
