Chris O’Connell of BASE Mindset has a great track record, within a stellar career. He was a millionaire at 26. He’s hugely impressive.
He talks about some of that today, but he also talks about his suicide attempts – the first time on my podcast that’s happened, and something of a curve ball for me.
For him, that’s him practicing what he preaches – that leaders need to show their vulnerability.
Within this episode, you can hear a lot more about leadership and vulnerability, with the word “authenticity” cropping up a few times. I am my usual provocative self, but Chris can easily handle someone like me!
You’ll also hear a lot about mental health, including conversations around his work as an ambassador for Mental Health in Recruitment. The survey we discuss has now closed, but if you get in touch with Chris he’ll be happy to share the results with you as soon as they’re available.
You can find out more on that organisation at https://www.mentalhealthinrecruitment.org/ and you can link with Chris at https://www.linkedin.com/in/itschrisoconnell/ .
