Emma Menzies of Ready Steady Coach guests on today’s podcast, and our conversation starts with how her company name reflects what makes a coaching client ideal, which does give me the opportunity to tell my favourite coaching joke!
However, we then turn to the much more serious topic of the professional impact of fertility challenges, starting with Emma’s credentials to speak on the matter, and indeed what actually is the professional impact on which she works with her clients.
As well as looking at different definitions of success, I ask Emma about the journey a client of hers might expect to go on with her, and how affordable she is at a time when clients may well already be under financial pressure. As with many things, it is of course all about the return on investment.
We also talk about what will be of direct relevance to many listeners – what if it’s not you with fertility challenges, it’s your friend, your colleague, your member of staff, or maybe even your line manager, your customer or your supplier who has those challenges. How should you be behaving towards the person with fertility challenges?
Emma is a Career and Executive Coach, NLP Practitioner and former Employment Lawyer and runs her own business, Ready Steady Coach. She specialises in facilitating career fulfilment for professional women experiencing fertility challenges.
Emma had a 15 year legal career practising employment law in a top 10 international law firm and FTSE 100 retailer. She then responded to her own experience of working with fertility challenges by creating a fulfilling new coaching career. She now empowers other professional women experiencing fertility challenges to manage their careers and find fulfilment while they’re on their journey to motherhood and supports organisations to manage fertility in their workplace.
