This is an edited version of The Business Show from Marlow FM 97.5 on 2nd Sept 2021.

My guests were Tony K Silver and Jill Shatz.  You can connect with them via https://www.linkedin.com/in/tonyksilver/& https://www.linkedin.com/in/jill-shatz-765735145/ respectively.

I chose one piece of music for each of my guests today.  The one for Jill was played first – it’s Jona Lewie’s “You’ll  Always Find Me in the Kitchen at Parties” – a great fit, I felt.  You can hear it at https://youtu.be/62eTq8ErUOQ .

Tony then talks about the letter K in his name, which is there for good business reasons, and then explains what a LinkedIn profiler does, and why “the seven second syndrome” is important.

I then spoke to Jill about what Newleaf Kitchens does, and the answer is not as obvious as you might think.  A conversation about having an open plan kitchen / dining room / lounge led to the business question of whether the customer is always right.

“Looking Out my Back Door” by Credence Clearwater Revival was Jill’s choice of music.  It’s a track which was, for her family, one of the good things about lockdown.  You get to hear it at https://youtu.be/Aae_RHRptRg.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58329439 kicked off a wide ranging conversation about HGV drivers and how a lack of them impacts the supply chain.  What’s the solution?

Tony chose “Livin’ Thing” by ELO for us – am I allowed to say “no G” without getting sued?  You can hear it at https://youtu.be/lvBOZCrJsAI.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58355105was Tony’s news choice – should we care about BA’s costs going up?  And what’s happening with furlough, and when?

Jill’s story for us, found at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-57489195 – what’s our take on takeaways?  Can takeaways encourage new customers to eat in?

Our last story before the end of the show was about confidence, sparked by the story at https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-58383035 which Tony found for us.  Is business confidence high?  Why?  And is that confidence valid?

My track for LinkedIn profiler Tony was Inna Vision’s “Link Up” – the most relevant title I could find!  You can hear it at https://youtu.be/Kp7yZ1DNYHE .

The best way to get in touch with Tony is of course at his LinkedIn profile, which you’ll find at https://www.linkedin.com/in/tonyksilver/

https://newleaf-kitchens.com/  is the best place to find out all about Newleaf Kitchens, including of course all of Jill’s contact details.
