M923 Consulting is probably the most unusual business name I’ve come across for a while, so I start this episode by asking Felix Obadaki about why he decided on that name for his business, and we move on to talk about what the business does, and for what sort of client.

The three answers to the latter part are outsource HR skills for SMEs, the second is CV services to individuals, and the third is a recruitment service for business large and small.

Our conversation about changes over the years to what a CV is, leads neatly into a conversation about how the pandemic has impacted on recruitment, for both employers and recruitment companies.

We then move on to the key topic of the episode - performance management when the manager and their teams are not in the same room, the same building, or even the same town!  The frequency and style of feedback is a recurring factor in the ensuing conversation, as is the need for emotional intelligence.

We close by looking at the biggest mistakes remote managers make – if you’re doing these things, stop!

Talking about M923 Felix says “The most valuable asset any organisation has is its people. However, hiring, developing and keeping the 'right' people has always a challenge for any organisation - particularly for businesses in the tech sector due to its inherent peculiarities and demand for a type of resourceful workforce. This is why M923 Consulting is focused on running and growing a business that delivers top quality HR resources, HR services and HRIS solutions across the technology sector.”
