On what should a small business spend money with a solicitor?

Erika Moralez-Perez of Virtual In-House Solicitor guests on today’s podcast.   Her business does what it says on the tin, but we still manage to talk about each of those three words, and the subscription structure that makes her firm different, along with the approach to client relationships, and her aim that working with her doesn’t cost a client money, it makes them money.

People’s failure to add a line for legal expenses to their pre-start business plan is one of Erika’s pet hates.  Unless they take advice from me of course – I always suggest they budget for such things.

So, what are the things that a small business can reasonably go away and do themselves, and for what services should they be using a solicitor?  Listen in for the answers.

I then outline a couple of very typical scenarios (which may well apply to you) and ask what a solicitor could do for me if I want “the works”, and what that might cost.

We finish by looking at how best to engage with a solicitor, to feel your way without initially committing to any spend.
