In this introductory episode of The End of the Day Podcast, I get real about how my lifelong struggle with depression led me to thoughtwork and, ultimately, to becoming a mindset coach.

My journey included hitting rock bottom, multiple times. I knew there was much more to life but I could not seem to break the destructive, self-defeating thoughts in my head.

These thoughts ruled my life for decades and almost cost me everything, both personally and professionally.

It wasn't until I found thoughtwork, more specifically, a formulaic way to manage my thoughts and feelings on a day to day basis, that I realized I might actually be able to participate in and fully experience the richness of life.

I set to work learning as much as I could about how the brain processes thoughts and feelings and how to use this understanding to manage my depressive symptoms and actually function in life.

Slowly, this work helped me to build my self-trust and self-confidence. For the first time, I could not only see a future but actually understood it was mine to have if I wanted.

Mindset work saved my life. It's as simple as that. I'm not going to sugarcoat the process. It's freaking tough to change decades of negative self-talk, hypercritical self-judgment and deeply ingrained feelings of shame and unworthiness.

But it IS possible, and the work is absolutely 100% without a doubt worth it.

Life is messy. Life is crazy. But when you learn to manage your thoughts and emotions, life can also be so, so beautiful.

What's it costing you to keep staying stuck?

If staying where you are feels intolerable to you, join me on this podcast. At the end of the day, we have one life. Ask yourself: how do you want to live it? How do you want to show up?

And then, let's get to work.
