Financial enmeshment occurs when boundaries between individuals are unclear, leading to unhealthy dynamics and behaviors. I explore various examples of financial enmeshment, such as using money to exert control, oversharing financial information with children, and assigning inappropriate roles to children. I also discuss the impact of financial enmeshment on individuals, including anxiety, insecurity, and a lack of independence. We explore the importance of recognizing and addressing financial enmeshment to create healthier relationships and set children up for success. It's a bit heavier than normal but vital to help our kids develop solid financial foundations.
