In this episode we talk with Jamison Galt, who is the Pastor of Resurrection Church Clinton Hill in Brooklyn, New York. In its relatively new existence as a church plant, Resurrection Church has already occupied five different buildings in the same neighborhood. Access to space in each location has been birthed through relationships that Jamison has cultivated with other pastors and people in the local community. This has given Jamison an interesting perspective on the neighborhood and how the physical form of a building and relationships impact ministry. Jamison loves his neighborhood and its rich history, but he is also acutely aware of how many of the buildings in his neighborhood convey the subtle message that if you are not one of us, you don’t belong here. Thankfully, there are exceptions to that rule. Some businesses have figured out how to be welcoming places for all. Jamison wants Resurrection Church to be that kind of place. And, we can listen in as he wrestles with the issue of place and belonging in his dense, diverse, and dynamic neighborhood.
