Should I move to California to Be with him?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 5 years.  My boyfriend received a new job opportunity in California and he wants me to move in with him.The bad part is he will not propose to me even though I keep dropping hints.  My family is so against me leaving a good paying job and my family.  What should I do? I love him and I cannot see myself with him.
