Tysus Jackson (@consciousgiver) - The Giver

Tysus Jackson is a fundraiser, social profit coach and speaker, and host of The Conscious Giver Podcast.  Tysus created Conscious Giving for people to activate their passion and to give with intent, for impact. Tysus works with organizations and individuals to build social profit in communities around the world.

Tysus began her fundraising career as a graduate intern at the Indiana University Foundation and became a Vice President of Advancement before forty years old. She was a CASE Clarence Jupiter Fellow at Wabash College, and met two campaign goals during the Virginia Tech $1 billion campaign in less than 18 months. She has lead programs at liberal arts colleges, historically black colleges and universities, health care organizations, and nonprofits. As a nonprofit executive director, she has leveraged her fundraising knowledge to create effective mission-centric organizations.

As a practitioner and researcher, Tysus is passionate about inclusive and conscious giving philanthropy. Her research on African American giving was published in the International Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Marketing. She has developed emerging constituent groups throughout her career. In 2019, Tysus launched The Conscious Giver Podcast to spread the message about giving with intent for impact.

Tysus learned the importance of a women’s education at her alma mater, Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame Indiana, where she received a Bachelor of Arts. Tysus went on to receive her Master of Public Administration from the nation’s #1 public administration program School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University Bloomington.
