Tierraney is a New Teacher Coach, Classroom Management, and Virtual Student Engagement Expert. She began her work in education as a Teach for America Corps member serving in title 1 public schools. She sees her work in education as a contribution to the fight for social justice to provide every student regardless of zip code a quality education.

Prior to becoming a teacher, Tierraney, graduated from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia with a B.A. in Economics and Organizational Management and a minor in Education. Since then she has earned her M.S.Ed in Elementary Education from Johns Hopkins University.

She is currently pursuing her principals certification through Rice University to become a K-12 Dean of Students to implement the positive school culture and climate that every teacher, student, and community stakeholder deserves.

Tierraney believes that doing what’s best for kids starts by best-supporting teachers. With this mission in mind, she coaches new and aspiring Title I teachers on how to improve academic achievement by increasing their student engagement using classroom management strategies.
