How often have you heard someone refer to their company as their baby? Maybe you've done that yourself. I've had that same feeling myself and I've had that same viewpoint in the past with past businesses. Given the blood sweat in emotional tears that we pour into our businesses, it seems like a logical analogy, but there comes a time when we have to take a step back, and view our businesses in a different light.

The early stages of your business growth may require constant attention. When you first start out, it's just like having a kid. I remember when my son was born. I mean, if you're a parent, you understand this. They can't do anything for themselves. You have to do everything for them. But after a certain point of time, you should be able to relax a little bit and especially when it comes to sleep. I remember when my son was born, every two hours he either needed fed or changed.

But at some point he started sleeping through the night. And I think that we know this was probably like month four or month five, he started sleeping through the night. So at some point they grow up at some point they wipe their own butt. So it's the same mentality we need to take her with our businesses. And today I want to talk about three reasons why you should ditch that mentality that your business is "your baby".
