Brett Harper - Exposing the Troubled Teen Industry (TTI)
Divorced: Baptist Christianity
Trigger Warning: CSA, kidnapping, abuse
Today’s guest is troubled teen industry survivor and activist Brett Harper. Having survived a Troubled Teen Industry program that left him with traumatic, life-long injuries and disabilities, Brett has made it is his purpose in life to raise awareness about child abuse in the troubled teen industry. Brett uses the hashtag “Spare the Rod” as a call to action that challenges those in authority to lead with love, empathy, and compassion instead of with a heavy hand.
In this episode, Brett shares some of his own experiences as a TTI survivor, how it continues to impact him, and his work as an advocate for TTI survivors.
