Wednesday night the #DDPLive Crew got involved in politics again as they talked with the Fresno City Disctrict 6 Candidates about the upcoming June 7 election. Garry Bredefeld, Jeremy Pearce and Carter Pope II joined the show with a late cancellation from Holly Carter. This election holds importance to people living between Blackstone and Willow, and Bullard north.
Show Summary:
Dowdy started off the show quickly with some basic ground rules. He also addressed the Holly Carter backing out issue.
Gary led off the debate by explaining, in his view, what a city councilman does. In the first segment we talked about crime, vagrancy, and code enforcement.
The gloves came off in the final segment as a heated exchange went down with Mr. Bredefeld and Mr. Pearce over High Speed Rail and Chukchansi Park. The interwebs got involved with some questions for the candidates. The crew addressed a huge hot button issue with gender neutral bathrooms in our schools. That got a strong reaction from the candidates. And finally Kevin discussed some constitution based questions to see how our candidates define the role of the federal government, what the constitution means to them and more.
The show was very informative and worth a listen if you are undecided about who to vote for in this upcoming election. And special note, Garry and Jeremy did shake hands afterwords!
