Headlines: Search for Victorian gunman continues

Police have arrested two people in north-east Victoria as a hunt continues for the man alleged to have killed two police officers and injured a third earlier this week.
A group of alumni from the Sydney all-boys private school Newington College has lodged an appeal against a Supreme Court ruling that allowed girls to be enrolled at the school from 2026.
Russia has launched one of its largest attacks on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv, killing at least 21 people, including four children.
And today’s good news: this weekend’s Sydney Marathon will be the first time an Australian city hosts a world major.
