After being diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and a paralysis of most of her left leg, World Champion Jamie Whitmore began a second career as a US Paralympic Cyclist where she competed in both the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Paralympic games. At the Rio games, Jamie won a gold medal in the Road Cycling race and a Silver in the 3k Pursuit. In 2014 Jamie won an Espy award for the Best Female Athlete with a Disability.
