Ep 9: ft. Erica Schaeffer on Choosing What You Love and the Privilege of Being an Artist

Erica (she/her/hers) is a multi-hyphenate performing and visual artist based in the Los Angeles area. She has an extensive background in Musical Theatre, and is a graduate of UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts (where she met Leya!). When she is not on stage acting through song and dance, you can find her creating visual works (most often paint, collage, and mixed media), writing poetry, or making jewelry out of polymer clay. She also loves a good hike, thrift shopping, spending time with loved ones (like her partner Nikko), and exclaiming "DOG!" whenever she sees a dog in public.

In this episode, we discuss starting a business during quarantine, on dealing with imposter syndrome and perfectionism, what it's like to have a creative relationship with your mom, on the transition from college into the "real world", support jobs as an artist, and singing at funerals.
