Pressing Towards the Mark

PHILIPPIANS 3

13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

One of the greatest challenges of discipleship is  pressing toward the mark for the prize which is in Christ Jesus. That means  pressing past complacency, pressing past the routine, pressing past religion and tradition. 
When our zeal for God is according to the knowledge of salvation in Christ, it will not only continue to burn, but it will burn brighter with the passing of time
